American swimming star Michael Phelps won the 400-yard individual medley at the Southern California Grand Prix short course swimming meeting.
World-record holder Phelps broke his own California meeting record with a time of 3:38.28 seconds.
Phelps, who is gearing up for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, earned $2,000 for the win.
Hungary's Tamas Kerekjart finished second in 3:46.96, while fellow American Tim Liebhold was third in 3:50.64.
Olympic silver medallist Kara Lynn Joyce won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:43.70, just out touching runner-up Mary Descenza.
Joyce collected another $2,000 for winning the 200-yard freestyle.
Olympic gold medalist Kaitlin Sandeno placed third in 1:45.13.
American Matt Grevers also won two races, the men's 50-yard and 200-yard freestyles.
Mark Gangloff rallied from behind in the second half of the race to win the men's 200-yard breakstroke in a time of 1:57.30.
The Grand Prix concludes on Monday with 10 events.
