Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury warned his side they cannot afford to keep giving teams a head start after a 2-1 home win over Tranmere.
Fortuitous goals from Wes Thomas and Marc Pugh, after Martin Devaney had given Rovers the lead, clinched Bradbury's side the points.
Bradbury said: "I thought the lads dug in really well and showed what they are all about.
"We did our best to get the ball down and ensured we played football on the deck. Ultimately that was enough to win."
Bradbury added: "That's twice we've started poorly and had to come back from a goal behind in a matter of weeks and that will be the undoing of us.
"We have to start playing for 90 minutes to ensure we keep this run going. I'm pleased with the progress, but we can definitely improve."
