Plymouth Argyle's newest arrival, on-loan defender Russell Anderson, has been immediately taken with the play-off chasing Championship club. The 29-year-old Scotland international had little time to meet his new team-mates before featuring in Tuesday night's 2-0 win at Southampton as a replacement for the injured Mat Doumbe.
With Doumbe (hamstring) and Marcel Seip (groin) set to be sidelined for Saturday's encounter against Burnley, Sunderland centre-back Anderson is poised for his Home Park bow.
Following his winning Pilgrims debut at St Mary's, he admitted: "If I had come into a struggling team and the players' confidence was down, it would have made it a lot harder.
"The team have been doing well so I think it made it easier to fit in.
"I thought we played some good football at times. The two boys up front - Jermaine Easter and Steve MacLean - did very well for us and we passed it when we could in midfield."
