Macclesfield boss Ian Brightwell has pleaded with supporters to stick by his side as they seek to climb away from relegation danger.Brightwell has come under increased scrutiny following a dismal run of four defeats in five games which has left his men fourth from bottom of League Two.

A tough home clash against Peterborough is looming this weekend but Brightwell insists continued support from the fans is vital.

"I understand everyone's frustrations and I share them," said Brightwell.

"I am not naive enough not to realise that we need to starting winning and that people are looking for change.

"But I have faith in what we are trying to achieve here at the Moss Rose and encourage everyone to stick together over the next crucial few weeks."
