Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood has refused to rule out the possibility of using three central defenders against Leyton Orient. The Reds played a three-man back-line with Julian Bennett and Luke Chambers deployed as wing-backs in the recent trip to Leeds, where they put in a much improved away performance in the 1-1 draw.
Forest head to Brisbane Road on Saturday desperate to end a record of seven away games without a win and Calderwood concedes playing with three centre-backs is an option.
"Playing with three central defenders was really set for a one-off occasion but it's obviously something we can fall back into very quickly," he told the club's official website. "We'll work a little bit on both systems and just prepare ourselves to have a flexibility about the way we play.
"We threw it on the players last week and I think a little bit more work is required on that for the future as much as the present."
Ian Breckin would be the most likely player to benefit by joining Kelvin Wilson and Wes Morgan at the heart of the Forest defence.
