'Cautious optimism' on takeover

Mansfield chief executive Stephen Booth is "cautiously optimistic" that the club's takeover talks may reach a conclusion in the next two weeks.The League Two strugglers have been embroiled in discussions with various parties for the past 18 months but controversial Stags owner Keith Haslam is negotiating on two firm offers for the club, through Booth.

"I am cautiously optimistic and things are moving on. I am hopeful we may get a resolution in the next couple of weeks," Booth told the Chad.

"Different potential bids are at different stages, and one is more advanced than the others."
