Dons suffer Wright injury blow

Thu 21 Feb, 02:00 PM

MK Dons physio Simon Crampton has confirmed that winger Mark Wright is set for several weeks on the sidelines with a torn hamstring.Wright - who is top scorer for Paul Ince's League Two leaders this season with 13 goals - missed the 1-0 win at Swansea in midweek after picking up the injury and could be out for some time.

Crampton told the club's official website: "Wrighty sustained an injury in training to one of his hamstring muscles in his right leg.

"It's a muscle that runs over two joints which makes it slightly more prone to injury and it's not uncommon in explosive sports.

"We've had a scan carried out on the injury which shows a minor grade two strain which is a partial tear of the muscle.

"We've put him into accelerated rehab for the next few weeks and hope to get him back in the quickest yet safest possible time."
