Posh tie up Rendell loan deal

Thu 21 Feb, 12:45 PM

Peterborough United have completed the signing of Cambridge United striker Scott Rendell on an initial three-month loan deal. The 21-year-old handed in a transfer request at the Abbey Stadium last weekend after scoring 22 goals and will complete a permanent transfer in the summer.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson told the club's official website: "The arrival of Scott means that I now have four strikers at my disposal again and that is important.

"Rene Howe and Danny Crow are out on loan until the end of the season so it boosts my options in attack.

"He is different to what we have. He is a good size but he is very good technically and of course he has scored a lot of goals."

Rendell will have to compete with Aaron Mclean, Craig Mackail-Smith and Liam Hatch for a starting berth at London Road but is in contention to feature against Macclesfield on Saturday.
