Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp has refuted claims he has been "trying too hard" to please - and backed himself to hit the goal trail.New Blades manager Kevin Blackwell, who recalled Sharp to the starting line-up in his first game in charge against Middlesbrough, feels the 21-year-old is desperate to please his hometown fans.
But Sharp said: "I don't see that as a problem to be honest. I'm not sure how you can try too hard.
"All I know is I'll try my hardest every time I play. Working hard is part of my game and I'm happy with my hold-up play.
"I'm bringing other people into play and I'm sure if I'm given a run in the side it's just a matter of time before the goals start coming."
Sharp finished last season as top marksman for Scunthorpe with 32 goals, but has yet to hit the target in the league since his summer return to Bramall Lane.
