Ipswich defender Tommy Smith has had his wish granted after Jim Magilton agreed to let him join Stevenage on a month's loan.The 17-year-old is set to make his debut for Peter Taylor's side in Saturday's Blue Square Premier League clash with Grays Athletic.

Smith had said previously: "I need some first-team football experience and it will only help me to become a better player. Blue Square Premier level is a better standard than our reserves so any action I can get I would relish.

"The pressure of having to get points from matches is something I need to experience."
