Aston Villa striker Luke Moore is having a medical with Championship club West Bromwich Albion ahead of a loan move that may be made permanent later.
Moore, 22, is rated at £3.5 million by Villa and will be given a chance to prove that he is worth a move to West Brom as they seek to win promotion to the Premier League.
Moore has not played for Martin O'Neill's side since early January.
After 28 days Villa will be able to recall the player at short notice. However should they allow him to stay with the Baggies, he will be eligible to feature in the end-of-season play-offs.
WBA defender Neil Clement meanwhile will appear for Hull City reserves against Darlington as he awaits a loan deal with the east coast club.
Albion face Hull at the weekend and Clement, 29, is expected to complete a three-month loan move to the KC Stadium once that match is completed.
