The fall-out between Valencia and their former captain David Albelda is showing no sign of letting up after they failed to find an agreement to rescind his contract with the club.

Albelda is claiming constructive dismissal after, in December, he was stripped of the captaincy, dumped in the reserves and told he would never again wear the white shirt of Valencia by new coach Ronald Koeman following over a decade of service for Los Che.

But a five hour meeting at the behest of Albelda - who wants an amicable solution to the fall-out to precipitate a move before the free transfer deadline - failed to find agreement between the parties.

"Despite the good will of all those concerned we were unable to come to an agreement," agent Alberto Toldra said afterwards.

"I genuinely believe that they, as much as us, want to fix this, but alas we've been unable to do so. There's still a chance something could be sorted by Friday."

If Valencia and Albelda do not agree terms, an independent committee has ordered a decision to be made through the courts by February 22nd.
