Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins said his team are ready to take three vital points away from the Tractor Boys at the weekend. The Iron are six points away from safety, with seven matches remaining while Ipswich go into the game just two points away from a play-off place.

He told the club's official website: "We are confident we can get a result from the game. The players' spirit is still high, the work ethic is there, and it is a game which we need to win.

"We have got to keep the belief that we can achieve 'Mission Impossible,' which is to maintain Championship status and we really, really believe we can."

Meanwhile, veteran midfielder Kevin Horlock has signed for Mansfield on loan until the end of the season.

The 35-year-old signed for the Iron from Doncaster in the January transfer window but has yet to start for Nigel Adkins' men.

The midfielder began his career at West Ham before Manchester City paid £1.25 million for his services in 1997 where he went on to make over 200 appearances.
