Inverness manager Craig Brewster is looking for his players to snap a poor run in front of goal when they visit Kilmarnock in the SPL.Caley Thistle have netted just four times in their last nine games and as a result any aspirations of the club's first ever top six finish look to have fallen firmly by the wayside.
The only victory Inverness have enjoyed in 2008 came against bottom club Gretna and they have lost their last five games - to Motherwell, Hibs, Celtic, Hearts and Falkirk.
However, Brewster insists his team have not been performing that poorly of late and is confident they will emerge from their current malaise, so long as the Highlanders improve their attacking efforts.
The Inverness boss said: "Four goals in nine games is not good enough but we are not playing too badly.
"In the last couple of games we haven't been great but neither have the opposition.
"We lost 3-0 to a Hearts team that were not any better than us and I thought they were very average on the day as well.
"Falkirk didn't offer really anything, just as we didn't either.
"I thought the game had 0-0 written all over it and suddenly we lost a goal with four minutes to go.
"It is my job to lift these guys and give them focus for Saturday.
"We now have to take responsibility for ourselves and look at our own performances.
"We can't blame anybody else and if everyone does that then we will be fine."
Brewster admitted he is still trying to work out exactly why Inverness have struggled to find a way to goal of late.
He said: "Sometimes it is difficult to actually pinpoint the reasons.
"Maybe the deliveries aren't good enough, maybe the runs we are making are not good enough to get on the end of crosses, or maybe the passes are not coming through. So you have to look at everything.
"It is important that the guys stay focussed because we have pride and positions in the league to play for."
Brewster has named a fairly settled team throughout the season, but may now look to experiment with other options.
When asked if he is considering making changes to his side, Brewster said: "I've been faithful and loyal to a lot of players and I've got to certainly look at that.
"But it's not as if we have been battered for 90 minutes of the last umpteen games."
