Warnock: No pressure on Palace

Fri 21 Mar, 05:00 PM

Neil Warnock remains adamant Crystal Palace are under no pressure to reach the play-offs as they enter the final seven games of the season. The Eagles were second from bottom of the Championship five months ago but head to relegation battlers Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday in seventh spot.

Following the trip to Hillsborough, Palace face away games at promotion-chasing Stoke, Watford and Hull, and Warnock feels the pressure will be firmly on the home sides which will work in his favour.

"They are great away games all against teams with something to play for," said Warnock.

"That's what you want at this time of year. It's a fabulous run-in because the likes of Stoke, Watford and Hull have all got massive expectations now.

"It will be interesting to go to places where the other teams are under more pressure to win than ourselves. From our point of view, we can play with freedom - because no-one expected us to be where we are."
