Chelsea coach Avram Grant believes Premier League games should be played as early as Friday before international weeks to help England get the best out of their players.
Chelsea face Arsenal and Liverpool play Manchester United in what is being dubbed 'Grand Slam' Sunday, but that leaves precious little time for England boss Fabio Capello to work with his squad ahead of their friendly international against France in Paris next Wednesday.
The Chelsea chief, who has also coached Israel, believes the Sunday fixtures will not help England.
"When you have a game on Wednesday and your players play Sunday you cannot train Monday and you cannot train Tuesday because it's the second day of recovery," he said.
"Then you need to play, it's not easy. I think we need to help him (Capello) a little bit.
"Maybe before an international game we could play Saturday. But I'd go further than this and play Friday if possible and then have five days for the national team, which is important."
