Colchester defender Chris Coyne is urging his relegated side to regain some pride by impressing in the final two games of the season. The Us let a 1-0 half-time lead slip to suffer an embarrassing 5-1 defeat to Coventry at Layer Road on Saturday.
With games against Stoke and Scunthorpe coming up, Coyne is looking for the players to finish strongly before facing up to life back in League One next season.
"We're playing for pride now, we're already relegated and we've got a point to prove," he told the club's official website.
"That's not the sort of point or the reflection they we want people to take on this group of players. We're a lot better than that, heads are down but we have to pick ourselves up for a big game against Stoke next week.
"We're a strong unit and a proud unit and we've got to make sure we pick ourselves up for the remaining two games."
