West Brom striker Craig Beattie has returned to Preston to resume his loan spell after recovering from a torn hamstring. The Scotland striker was not expected to play for North End again after lasting just 37 minutes of his debut against Leicester six weeks ago.
But Beattie, who is still registered as a Preston player, is now set to feature in the final two games of the season.
Deepdale boss Alan Irvine said: "I spoke to Craig on Sunday morning and it was agreed that it would be good if he could come back up.
"He knows that he is not going to start the game next week because that wouldn't be right on the lads who have been playing but he's happy to come along and sit on the bench."
Meanwhile, defender Billy Jones may have played his last game this season after picking up an Achilles injury during Saturday's 2-2 draw at Plymouth Argyle.
