Carlisle boss John Ward has confirmed the club will appeal to the FA against defender David Raven's red card against Southend at the weekend.Raven was dismissed during the 2-1 defeat for a late challenge on Shrimpers midfielder Nicky Bailey and is facing a three-match ban.
Ward initially said he would "abide by the decision", but has now opted to launch an appeal after studying video footage.
"We do intend to lodge an appeal once we have the footage together," said Ward.
"I think it's only right and proper that we do that, as the player feels as if he has been harshly treated."
