Ling considering formation switch

Mon 21 Apr, 09:00 PM

Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling admits he could deploy a different formation next season as he looks to freshen things up at Brisbane Road.Ling dropped his usual 4-4-2 system in favour of a more attacking 4-3-3 for the 1-1 home draw with promotion-chasing Doncaster on Saturday.

The draw ended the Os' run of five consecutive defeats and Ling was pleased to see his side adapt well to the new system.

"When we've been successful with 4-4-2, it's worked really well and I tend to stick with what I know," he told the club's official website.

"But it wasn't working recently and something had to be done about it. We went 4-3-3 and it gave us a chance to look at people playing in that system for next year.

"It's good to have a plan B for when things aren't going well."
