Calderwood: Commons on his way

Nottingham Forest have confirmed winger Kris Commons will not be at the City Ground next season after he decided to leave the City Ground.The 24-year-old, who has been widely linked with a move to the Reds' east midlands rivals Derby, informed boss Colin Calderwood he had decided to move on despite Forest securing promotion to the Championship.

Calderwood told the club's official website: "We offered Kris a new contract last summer but he decided instead to sign a one-year extension to his exisiting agreement.

"We had hoped to sit down with him and his agent again at the end of the season to talk about his future at the City Ground.

"But he told me shortly after we had secured promotion that he had already decided to leave."

Meanwhile, Alan Power and Felix Bastians have been released, Sammy Clingan, Dale Roberts, Paddy Gamble, Shane Redmond, Hamza Bencherif and Joe Heath have been offered new deals and Mark Byrne and Tom Sharpe have signed new one-year deals.
