Cardoza stands firm on departures

Wed 21 May, 12:45 PM

Northampton chairman David Cardoza says Town won't be selling any of their key players, including keeper Mark Bunn, on the cheap this summer. The club recently announced an operating loss but Cardoza insists the Cobblers are in a position where they are able to negotiate any transfers on merit.

Cardoza has also revealed the club have rejected "a number" of bids for goalkeeper Bunn, who opened talks over a new contract with manager Stuart Gray on Tuesday.

"We are still losing money but we aren't in a position where we have to sell, its just a question of whether we want to sell," he told the club's official website.

"We had a number of bids for Mark Bunn from Nottingham Forest but we knocked them back. Mark is a terrific player but we've got a certain value on him and we won't be budging from that.

"We are certainly not desperate sellers but if the right offer comes in for any of our players then we would obviously have to consider it."
