Chief executive Marie Partner has revealed Colchester are close to securing a contract for the naming rights of their new Community Stadium.The Us are leaving their old Layer Road ground for a state-of-the-art 10,000-seater arena at the Cuckoo Farm area of the town and are weighing up a number of new sponsorship opportunites.

"There has been a huge amount of work done behind the scenes and I'm hopeful that we will be about to release some information soon," Partner told the Gazette.

"We have a lot of new and existing sponsors and businesses who look at us moving to the new stadium as a whole new exciting venture.

"It's clear that they have the same aspirations as we have and we have more options now for them to benefit commercially."
