Adrian Boothroyd has admitted his Watford side became "predictable" during their slump down the Championship table this season.Boothroyd has promised a radical change in style from the direct football which saw them fall from eight points clear at the top of the table in November to a play-off thrashing at the hands of Hull in a bid to bounce back into the Premier League next season.
He said: "The thing about playing direct football is that it limits the variables of the players.
"They've got to do three or four certain things every time they get on the ball.
"Everybody knows what everybody else is doing which is the essence of team play and made us better than the sum of our individual parts.
"But you become predictable and now we have to adjust and adapt."
