Brian Laws has urged Sheffield Wednesday to learn from their disastrous start this season by beginning the next campaign on the front foot.It took the Owls six matches before they registered a single point in the Championship and their horrendous opening period paved the way for a season of struggle - with survival only secured on the last day of the season.
Laws told the club's official website: "To start the season with six straight defeats is something that I would not want even my worst enemy to deal with.
"But from that came a lot of positives; we addressed the situation, we got the players back on board and made sure the camaraderie, team spirit and work ethic was there.
"I was really pleased with the response because having had no points from the first six games was like having a hefty fine, as Leeds did. They had a 15-point deduction and we effectively started with minus 18.
"I think we have come through the other end much stronger for it and it's something we can bear in mind and draw on if we were ever in such a situation again."
