Brighton manager Micky Adams wants to bring in six new players over the summer as he plans a sustained promotion push next season.Adams has also reiterated his desire to keep hold of versatile midfielder Adam El-Abd, who has yet to give a response to the new two-year contract he has been offered.

"We have got probably 12 or 13 you would class as first-team squad members and I am hoping to add another six to them, not necessarily older players but players that have experienced League One or the Championship," Adams told the Argus.

"We are looking at all areas and out wide is one I will be looking to strengthen for sure, with a little bit of pace. My teams generally like to get into the last third of the pitch and get crosses into the box.

"Within those 12 or 13 players we are still waiting on an answer from Adam El-Abd. That might be key because Adam can play in a few positions.

"It could well be that we will bring in a couple of players that can play in a number of positions. When you are looking at smaller squads that is important at this level."
