Edwin Van der Sar saved Nicolas Anelka's spot-kick as Manchester United won the Champions League in a penalty shoot-out against Chelsea after the match finished 1-1 after 120 minutes.

Chelsea seemed favourites when Cristiano Ronaldo missed his penalty, but John Terry slipped and hit the post as he stepped up to win it for Avram Grant's men.

Ronaldo had early scored a first-half header to put United in the lead, but Frank Lampard equalised just before the break.
