Serie A champions Internazionale are confident of hanging on to Jose Mourinho after media reported that Real Madrid want to lure the Portuguese coach away from them.
Spanish media said Real presidential candidate Florentino Perez had targeted Mourinho, who clinched the Serie A title last weekend in his maiden season in Italy.
Perez will bid to regain the presidency of the nine-times European champions next month.
"The news from Spain reached us immediately but our coach has assured me that he does not want to leave Milan," club president Massimo Moratti told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I want to believe in our coach's word. In the past he has proved his seriousness, he has already shown that he never betrays his word.
"He is too serious a professional to do something of the sort."
Former Chelsea and Porto boss Mourinho, whose contract with Inter runs until 2011, has previously said that it is 100 per cent certain that he will stay at the club next season.

Mourinho is a man of his words...
Chelsea failed him not the opposite
pswaby14, no one could say it better. Even Fergie never managed to get a cup in his third season at man united.
Viva jose!
CAPPELO is far much better than mourinho.the best in the world, he should came back to madrid
why people can't accept the fact that mourinho is one of the best coaches in football and only fergie is 'probably' a little better than him. he won the champions league with an unknown porto team with a shoe string budget.in his three seasons he won everything in england he manage the egos of the stars at chelsea which big phil nor grant could and many others would have failed to do. He win the scudetto in his first season at Inter. and lets not forget in winning the cl he went to ManU and knock them out at home.So all u mourinho haters brace yourselfs because he is destined to be the greatest u ever see.
so many dreams and scam... i bet this report was read from the newspaper MARCA...
Mourinho will not be at Inter next season. He's too much of a glory hunter. Real Madrid next season. He will be at Manchester UTD when fergie retires
