Kenny Miller knew his decision to return to Rangers would be unpopular with some sections of the Ibrox support.

But the striker believes he has played his part in taking the Light Blues to within touching distance of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League title this season.

"There was a lot of opposition when I came back at the start of the season but my main objective when I arrived at Rangers was to help the club get the title and do my bit for the team," he said. "I feel I have managed to do that and to win the title and get the trophy back where it belongs would be amazing."

He added: "It would mean the world to me to win the title.

"Nothing is settled yet and we can't forget that. Dundee United are a very strong side and still have a European place to go for.

"They also had to watch Celtic lifting the trophy at the end of last season which can't be nice.

"So they will be doing everything in their power to make sure that doesn't happen again."

Some fans feared Rangers had blown their chances of clinching the championship when the were held to a 1-1 draw at Hibernian last week.

But the Edinburgh club had a further say in the title race when they also earned a point against Celtic at the weekend, meaning victory will be enough for Rangers to come out on top on the last day.

Miller told Rangers News: "If someone would have said to me at the start of the season this would be the situation, I would have grabbed it with both hands. Now we just need to go out and do the business."
