Sat 21 Jun, 11:45 AM

Aston Villa's out-of-favour striker Marlon Harewood is determined to secure a regular place in the starting line-up next season. The 28-year-old started just three games last term following his summer switch from West Ham and earned the tag of 'super sub' after a number of impressive displays from the bench.

Harewood told the club's official website: "There's a lot more to come from this squad and hopefully a lot more to come from me. I want to play my part.

"I'm looking forward to my second season here and hopefully I can show more of what I can do and hopefully I'll get the chance to shine.

"The fans saw what I could do in the second half of last season and I just want to get out there and show my stuff again next season."
