Ronaldo Wants 'Dream' Real Move

Sat 21 Jun, 10:09 AM

Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed he will follow the example of his Portugal manager Luiz Felipe Scolari and seize a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Scolari will take over at Chelsea next month having decided midway through the country's European Championship campaign he wanted to move back into club management.

Ronaldo, who has been the subject of long-standing interest from Real Madrid, said he cannot pass up a "great opportunity".

"It [moving to Real] is a dream, a step forward, you can call it what you want," Ronaldo said.

"For me it is a great opportunity and, as Scolari says, that train passes by only once and we have to take advantage of it.

"That is why he took advantage of his change. Other people have to take advantage of opportunities, too."

Asked whether he was concerned his actions would upset United manager Sir Alex Ferguson the winger added: "It is my opinion. That is why I don't mind if people get upset.

"It is my decision. It is what I want. I don't know what I have to say to him. I have to say what I want and what I think."

  1. why are united fans getting so bitter ? your player has been tapped up like you have done to other players for seasons ... ferdinand , cantona , evra , carrick , saha were all these players disrespectfull for joining you ? and what players has fergie made ? he inherited a great bunch of kids from ron atkinson and poached the rest because money did the talking.

  4. Fergie made him, remember? The big man has made a lot of players. None has shown this level of disrepect before. Not even David Beckam who had a memorable showdown with the boss. Fergie has always stood by him.I knew he will opt to leave someday. That`s okay but not by playing this childish game of arrogance and greed. I already know how he will end up. FIGO, THE PHENOMENOM, RONALDINHO etc. Ronny you are a loser. SIR let him GOOOO!!!

  5. let him go. he's shown no respect for fergie or the rest of the team and it's obvious his motivation is greed and his ego. make madrid pay us their transfer budget for the next 2 seasons. even with ronaldo their squad would be weaker than united's, and that's before fergie spends their money.
fergie shouldn't let ronaldo ruin united's team spirit, this is their chance to prove they are not a one man team.
