The Blades are hoping to redevelop the South Stand with an additional 6,000 seats and conference and hospitality facilities as part of their aim to make Bramall Lane a World Cup venue in 2018.

"We are keen to receive the views of the local community and our fans," chief executive Jason Rockett told the club's official website.

"The plans are exciting not only for United but for the city and the areas near to the stadium."

Residents and supporters will be able to see plans and computer generated images of the proposed work on Monday June 22 and Wednesday June 24 in the John Street Stand at the stadium.

  1. It's good at long last to see some investment at Bramall Lane. Now, Yorkshire County Cricket Club, when are you going to return to your Founding CityI? It would be nice to see your main playing arena, office/broadcast facility, relocated back in its origins, not secreted away down some M62 corridor.
