Eurosport - Sun, 21 Jun 18:55:00 2009
Driver reaction after the British Grand Prix, which championship leader Jenson Button hopes will be his worst outing of 2009.
Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull - winner): "It's fantastic. It shows we're on the right way. Everyone has worked so hard. It was all kind of last minute but we did it. I want to thank Silverstone - I enjoyed it so much. The people were all standing up at the end. The emotions... I have to thank every single person in the grandstands. This is what I dreamt of when I watched in the era of (Nigel) Mansell."
Mark Webber (Red Bull - 2nd): "I think I lost the race yesterday. We needed to get on the front row at least and then in the first stint today, we knew that Sebastian was pulling away. Rubens (Barrichello) was doing his best and his car didn't look that easy. I was just sitting behind; it's so difficult to stay close at Silverstone. So the race was virtually lost in that first stint."
Rubens Barrichello (Brawn GP - 3rd): "I have a lot of pride because at the end of day it was very difficult. Red Bull were the class act this weekend. I'm very proud of our achievement. Unfortunately Red Bull were really, really fast but I did what I had to do. I want to thank all the doctors that helped me this weekend because I was in terrible back pain."
Felipe Massa (Ferrari - 4th): "I almost feel as though I won the race. To start eleventh and finish fourth is a really great result. We weren't expecting it and so we are doubly happy. We had a good strategy and I pushed to the maximum at the key moments. Today, the KERS was a great help, especially at the start, but the whole car was also working well. The team did a great job and the results speak for themselves."
Nico Rosberg (Williams - 5th): "I am very pleased for the whole team, and for myself, that we had another good race. We still didn't get the result that we are capable of today, but Barrichello was slow in the middle stint and I was stuck behind him and that cost me the place to Massa. If that hadn't happened, we would have had a solid fourth place."
Jenson Button (Brawn GP - 6th): "If you don't get the tyres in their working range, it doesn't matter what car you've got, it doesn't work, so that was my problem here and Rubens seemed to be struggling as well ... Hopefully this will be the worst race of the year. And after struggling so hard to get three points, in a way this might be an important three points."
Jarno Trulli (Toyota - 7th): "It was a very hard race for me. I had a difficult start because the car didn't pull away as fast as normal, so I lost a couple of positions. I was trying to fight back all through the race but it was not easy and the car was sliding around quite a lot; maybe this was because of the aero set-up I chose yesterday."
Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari - 8th): "I got a good start, but then I was unable to push as much as I could have done because I was always in traffic. It's a shame, because given where I was at the end of the first lap, I could have got a better result. A single point is definitely nothing to get excited about, but it's better than nothing."
Timo Glock (Toyota - 9th): "It's a pity to miss out on the points, especially as I was really quick out of traffic and at the end I was able to catch Kimi (Raikkonen) quite easily. The problem was at the first corner when I lost a few positions; that left me in traffic and compromised my race."
Giancarlo Fisichella (Force India - 10th): "A top 10 finish was our target this weekend. We thought it would be difficult but actually today was a very good race for me and we achieved the maximum we could do. It was a fun race. I had a good start and then on the first lap I overtook many drivers and even on the second lap I overtook Kubica and the two Renaults."
Kazuki Nakajima (Williams - 11th): "That result was not ideal for me. There weren't any particular reasons for it. I was pleased with my start and I thought it was going to be a good race for me, but I was held up by the car in front before my first stop and then it was difficult to keep up with the cars ahead of me for the rest of the race."
Nelson Piquet (Renault - 12th): "The overall result is disappointing today, but I think I had a solid race. It's clear that we must continue to work hard and hopefully introduce some new upgrades in time for the next race in a few weeks' time. I know that I can be competitive if the car is good, however it's down to me to improve my performance in qualifying."
Robert Kubica (BMW - 13th): "This was a very difficult race for me. Starting from P12 it was clear under normal circumstances we couldn't achieve much, therefore we decided to take a risk and start the race with a high fuel load and on the prime tyres. But it didn't pay off, because I had big problems heating up the tyres at the start, and I lost ground."
Fernando Alonso (Renault - 14th): "Our chance to score points today was over at the start as we lost two positions and I was stuck behind Heidfeld who was heavy on fuel, which cost us a lot of time. Although I had some good fights around the track, I'm obviously frustrated with the poor result and it's clear we need to improve on all fronts before Germany."
Nick Heidfeld (BMW - 15th): "There wasn't much we could come away with. At the start I risked a lot when I went for a rather small gap. I damaged my front wing but I was happy it wasn't worse than that. Of course it significantly affected the aerodynamics, but we decided to wait until the scheduled pit stop so not to lose even more time."
Lewis Hamilton (McLaren - 16th): "I gave it my all today. Despite fighting for the lower positions, I was absolutely on the limit for the whole race. We knew it would be difficult, and I enjoyed my battle with Fernando, but we didn't have the pace today to get into the points. The best thing about this weekend has been the fans: they really gave me some consolation by cheering me on throughout the race."
Adrian Sutil (Force India - 17th): "We rebuilt the spare car after the crash yesterday caused too much damage to my race car, but then we had a problem on the formation lap with the fuel pressure. We could fix it and at least start but it was really disappointing today."
Sebastien Buemi (Toro Rosso - 18th): "It was a very tough race and we struggled to be on the pace and now we must try and work out why, as we have been quicker than this earlier in the weekend. On worn tyres especially, the car was very difficult to drive."
Sebastien Bourdais (Toro Rosso - DNF): "Regarding my collision with Kovalainen, he changed line twice. At the exit to Stowe, I was on the normal line and he went to the inside, I moved to the outside, then he moved over so I moved across to the other side and he changed again. He braked early, because he had only just left the pits on full tanks and cold tyres. I was trying to out-brake him, but he should not have changed line like that."
Heikki Kovalainen (McLaren - DNF): "Of course, it's disappointing not to finish the team's home race.Until my retirement, the car had been working fine and the strategy was working for me too: we were on target. Then Bourdais just ran into the back of me and damaged the left-rear corner. I had to stop because the damage had made the car undriveable."

HELLO MY LITTLE F1 BUDDIES THIS IS YOUR FRIEND MARINARO4 FROM CHILE AND I HEAR THAT MY NEPHEW MARNIO FROM PERU HAS BEEN INFLUENCED BY THAT VILE CREATURE POTTER, WHAT A LITTLE BASTA£D HE IS AND I UNDERSTAND WHY YOU ALL HATE HIM SO MUCH. PLEASE DON'T BE TOO ANGRY WITH MY NEPHEW MARNIO FROM PERU FOR HIS BLINDNESS IN NOT ACKNOWLEDGING MR HAMILTONS SONS TALENT. AND WHAT A GOOD YOUNG TALENT IS MR HAMILTONS SON AND WE ALL IN CHILE LOVE HIM SO MUCH. MR HAMILTONS SON IS THE KING OF F1 AND HE HAS THE NUMBER ONE ON HIS MCLAREN AND ALL OF YOU BRITISH DON'T SEE THAT. I THOUGHT THAT THE BRITISH F1 FANS WERE GREAT IN IDENTIFYING TRUE DRIVING TALENT, AND I HEAR THAT YOU BRITISH HAVE ABANDONED MR HAMILTONS SON AND BEGAN SUPPORTING MR BUTTONS DAUGHTER JUSTINE. HOW WRONG WAS I TO BELEIVE THAT THE BRITISH F1 FANS COULD IDENTIFY TRUE DRIVING TALENT, AND MR BUTTONS DAUGHTER FINISHED SIXTH IN A CAR THAT SHOULD HAVE ONE.
A question often asked of me is why don't I write some new posts and not just post the same old Potter, Bernard, Marion and Marnio posts? Its a good question and I suppose the answer is that I am a sad old woman who has nothing better to do and these posts take me days to write because I am so stupid. When I post them you lot thumb them down so I have to keep re-posting them, its all I have left in life.
@ Post 26 (on3ofm4ny): I'm done with POTTER and Burt and these other idiots. As far as I'm concerned, Potter plays with himself in front of a Mario poster and Burt shoots hamsters!

i must admit after reading some of these posts Touron does have a point.
Why did glok slow down so much in the last lap..
Why was glok driving on the wet side of the track in the last few remaining bends allowing hamilton to take the inside DRY line to victory.
HHHmmmmmm.....seems a little suspicious to me...Can anyone enlighten me as to why Glok lost so much time on the Last Lap it was if he was abducted by the ALIENS
Whats it all about..
Why cant this question be answered especially by mclaren fans and especially by Doughnut Ray $%^&...
Why has the evidence ie..the last lap of the brazilian GB especially the last few corners been removed from You Tube..
Why do Mclaren fans keep running away from this question and the Truth..
people keep saying wait till jeremey clarkson show..all will be revealed...
i mean considering glok was on slick tyres why was he driving right in the wet line of the track on the last few corners..everyone keeps saying they are surprised he finished at all considering the conditions...Various posts state it was like an ice rink...
So why was Glok driving in the WET on SLICKS on the WET LINE NOT/ THE DRY LINE on the last few bends....please tell im waiting and have been all Day and probably will be for a long time yet.

Francis dear donkey, what I have noticed with the other races is that, true one tyre is less effective than the other, but for most teams it is the same tyre, this race however neither tyre was good for the Brawn and left to themselves I am confident that they would have chosen a different tyre ocmbination.
6th place is his worst finish this year. I bet most drivers would love that!

Just ready to start my evening postings, the asylum is very quiet at the moment, ha ha ha. No just a joke!
I was really serious about feedback on my wonderful posts, mainly as the dashing francis s, that I really would like your thoughts on these witty, well contrived posts.
As I said earlier I might even publish my address so you can snail mail your replies or even come round and see me for a cup of tea.
Does anyone know how insecure Facebook is?
helen where have you been this year . several team or drivers had good times on one tyre an than had to change to the other tyre an do badly. your sounding like your making a excuse for browngp. red bull vettels an wibber were the top team an rewbans showed that he can beat buttons. say lavee
I was quite confused there for a minute Misi, I was answering a point raised by nasimlaw and you answered my answer. Are you a multi poster then? Misi=nasimlaw or just very good friends.
The fact that Vettel made a mistake in Turkey is not the issue, I was correcting nasimlaw (or your) assertion that Button or any other driver can only win from pole position. This assertion is plainly untrue although I have to say that I do agree with the sentiment of nasimlaw (or you) in that post.
I was recently talking to my husband of 58 years, Benjamin, and we are both very peeved that overtaking has disappeared from F1. After all what is any motorsport series without overtaking.
