Abbott: Road trips no problem

Sun 21 Jun, 09:42 AM

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott has insisted that travelling long distances for away games will not be a problem next season.

The Cumbrians face a 700-mile round-trip to Exeter on January 2, as well as journeys to other southern sides such as Brighton, Southampton and Wycombe.

"We certainly won't be using travel as an excuse at all this season," Abbott told the club's official website.

"I'm sure that other people will mention the distances involved but it isn't a factor as far as I'm concerned.

"It's my job to make sure that the preparation is right wherever we play and whoever we play.

"If we have to travel a long way to play a game then that's just something else I will have to factor into the planning process."
