Boyd buoyant over fixtures

Sun 21 Jun, 11:45 AM

Hartlepool striker Adam Boyd believes his team can take advantage of a beneficial fixture schedule this season.

Boyd, 27, has returned to Victoria Park from Leyton Orient and believes they have have nothing to fear from their opening fixtures.

Pools travel to MK Dons on August 8, with Charlton arriving at Victoria Park on August 15 and Bristol Rovers visiting on the following Tuesday.

"The fixture list is out now and it looks good for us," Boyd told the club's official website.

"MK Dons are strong and we're not sure how Charlton will be but we have to fancy our chances against Bristol Rovers so the opening period is exciting.

"I think the biggest bonus from the schedule is the last twelve games. If we can hang around in mid-table or perhaps a little higher then we'll be well-placed and we'd have to fancy ourselves to pick up quite a few points from those fixtures."
