Clarets boss eyes Paterson impact

Burnley boss Owen Coyle admits he is excited about the prospect of unleashing Martin Paterson on the Championship this season.Paterson opened his account for the Clarets with a superb strike in Saturday's 1-1 friendly draw against Queen of the South.

It was his first goal since joining Burnley from Scunthorpe in a summer transfer worth over £1million.

Coyle said: "Martin has been working ever so hard and I told him if he continued that work rate the goals would come, and so it proved.

"We are very excited about how he will play for us."
