Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordon has contacted his lawyers as he prepares possible legal action against a major Sunday newspaper.Jordan was quoted as calling the football world as "arrogant."

The News of the World printed the interview, labelled 'Exclusive', at the weekend but Jordon has since denied any involvement with the article.

A statement on Palace's official website said: "Simon Jordan would like to make it clear that he did not take part in an interview, marked 'Exclusive', with the News of the World on Sunday 20th July 2008.

"He has referred the matter to his lawyers."
