Bradford manager Stuart McCall accepts the club may have to "spend some money" on a striker after missing out on free agent Michael Boulding.Boulding, who recently trained with the Bantams, was one of McCall's summer targets, but the former Mansfield striker is set to sign for League One Cheltenham.
McCall told the club's official website: "We move on there. Michael said all along that he wanted to play in a higher league and he's going to do that.
"But whoever we're after now, we will have to spend money on, unless we go down the loan route. He was one of the boys that were out there on a free. The other ones who crop up will be on contract.
"I know the money is there and I'm not talking great fortunes. It's something I'm not going to panic about. Clubs are all back now and releasing players on year-long loans, but we might have to go and spend some money."
Meanwhile, McCall has decided not to offer Nick Colgan a contract. The former Barnsley goalkeeper has played in City's last two pre-season matches.
