Moore compares Waterfall to Hill

Mon 21 Jul, 04:30 PM

Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore has likened new recruit Luke Waterfall as a player in the same mould as former Rovers centre-back Clint Hill.Rovers last week completed the signing of the teenage defender from Barnsley on a one-year deal.

The 17-year-old has drawn favourable comparisons with Hill, who played more than 150 games for Tranmere between 1997 and 2002.

Moore told the club's official website: "Luke reminds me very much of Clint Hill. He is big - six foot three - strong and does not take any chances.

"He's right-footed rather than left, as Clint was, and I think he has a good chance in the game. He just needs to quicken his feet up, and we will do that for him.

"I'm very pleased we managed to pinch him."
