Sheffield Wednesday defender Richard Wood has played down his new role as team captain of the Championship outfit.The 23-year-old returned from concussion to complete his first pre-season run-out in last week's 3-0 win over Dutch side Stormvogels Telstar.

Wood told the club's official website: "I've been here long enough and everybody knows what I can do, so I don't think being captain is going to change any of that.

"It just gives me responsibility leading the lads out, looking after them and being extra vocal."
