Robins hoping for pitch advantage

Mon 21 Jul, 03:00 PM

Rotherham manager Mark Robins hopes Don Valley Stadium's bumpy playing surface can work in his side's favour next season. The Millers held Derby to a goalless draw in their first match at their new home over the weekend and Robins claims not many sides will relish the visit to Attercliffe in League Two.

Robins said: "I don't think that there will be many teams that will fancy playing at Don Valley.

"I want the lads to train here so that we can get used to the pitch and that will give us a good advantage."

Robins added: "We can take a lot of positives from the game, Derby have only just come down from the Premiership, they had a lot of talent on show and a lot of experienced players who have played at the top level, and I thought that we created a little bit more than them."
