Derek Young scored the only goal of the game to give Aberdeen a 1-0 victory over Brechin in Monday night's friendly at Glebe Park.The Second Division hosts began the brighter before the Dons hit the woodwork twice in less than a minute through Jamie Smith and Charlie Mulgrew.

Young then netted what proved to be the winner three minutes before the break with a superb left-footed strike from 25 yards.
