Priaulx Ready To Take On Schu

Reigning three-time World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx has become the fourth driver to be confirmed for the end-of-year Race of Champions at Wembley Stadium.

The Guernseyman will be paired with Honda Formula One driver Jenson Button in one of two British squads for the event on December 14.

The other confirmed drivers are retired seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher and Toro Rosso star Sebastian Vettel, who will again be partners in the German team.

Priaulx, who will contest his home round of the 2008 WTCC season at Brands Hatch this weekend, reached the semi-finals at last year's Race of Champions, dispatching McLaren driver Heikki Kovalainen and WTCC rival Yvan Muller before being ousted by Schumacher.

"Michael is a tough competitor and we have a lot of respect for each other but when the lights go out there will be no holding us back," said Priaulx. "It's fun, yes, but of course I want to win."

Priaulx and Button also reached the final four of last year's Nations Cup before losing out to the German duo.

"It was frustrating to get so close but not to make either final last year," added Priaulx.

"Competing at Wembley was incredible. They say the support of a home crowd gives you an extra second a lap, you can really feel them egging you on."
