Blackburn would consider selling England midfielder David Bentley - but only for the right price, the club's chairman John Williams has confirmed.
Rovers have had two bids for the 23-year-old, from Tottenham and Aston Villa, but neither has come anywhere close to the price Blackburn believe Bentley is worth.
It is thought Blackburn would want more than £18million for the former Arsenal player, who has already made it clear he wants to move, though ideally to a club playing in the Champions League.
If they do receive a bid at the required level, then manager Paul Ince will have the final say.
Williams said: "We have received two bids but neither have come anywhere close to our valuation which is based in line with how we see the market.
"We don't want to lose David but if we do get a bid that meets our valuation then ultimately it comes down to a football decision by Paul.
"David is one year into a four-year contract but he told us when Mark Hughes was here that he wanted a move so this doesn't come as a shock to us."
Bentley has travelled to Germany with the rest of the Blackburn squad but may return early after picking up a hamstring injury.

reading your veiws on barry @ bently, for a start they both had a fantastic season with there respective clubs, but i would say they are different type of players, where bently has skill and speed, crossing in great balls for the farward line, as we"l as scoring a few himself, but i feel lacked a little confidence for england, maybe tried to hard. as for barry i do think he has a little more vision, plays at a slower pace threading balls left to right, forcing attacking opptions.both these players are good players that would get into any top 4 side, but i will also say overpriced.and i am a villa fan. good luck to both teams.
The things people write in this blog nowadays, sometimes don't make sense. if you read through some of the comments, well you'll have to agree a few and feel ridiculed with the nonsesnse some people come up with. Bentley for 18 million, I think that's ok....
barry should get back in his cot say sorry then see out the 2 yrs he has left with villa cus nxt yr they will be in champions league

bentley big fish small pond
as with arsenal he'll go off the radar if he moves
barry is worth a tenner compared to bentley he is worth 20 million nevermind 18 robinho is older yet worth more because he is brazilian and bentley is easily better than him as he has better skill makes play happen not lose the ball all the time like robinho and he is younger and plays in a better league the list goes on and on he is easily worth that much stay @ blackburn and see out your contract!
ashley young is the ONLY england player worth that much ;)
Im not a blackburn supporter by any means.. but teguh.. that is the dumbest thing ever... he is a amazing player to watch and the 5 or 6 games i seen him in, he is easily worth 20 million pound
I'd like to see him perform superbly again next season before deciding whether or not he's good enough for £20m or so.
However, these days teams will pay whatever it takes, so I'd expect to see him on the right hand side for Spurs or Manchester City next season. He's not good enough yet to play regular football for the top four.
He will be Englands new right winger, he is better than lennon, SWP, and beckham will be past it in 6 months to a year anyway. He is only valued so high at £18 mil because he is worth so much to Blackburn. I bet none of you watch him week in week out, only what you see when he plays for England, when he gets 45 mins when he should get a full match to show capello that he is better than beckham at the moment.
what an ABSURD valuation.
Does his crosses as good as Beckham? NO
Does his pace and dribble as good as C. Ronaldo? NO
Does he cost that much? NO
Seriously, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur should not agree to that absurd price tag. There are better players that cost less than that. Tottenham Hotspur have Aaron Lennon, he has pace and dribble skills, only thing he needs to work on is his crossing. I don't know about Aston Villa, but Bentley's price tag is waaay too expensive.
There are only 3 possible destinations for Bentley because he wants to play Champions League football. Liverpool, Manchester United or Chelsea. No foriegn club would pay double for just because there are so few decent English players.
if he's worth 18 mill the barry must be worth 30 mill
