Derby County have taken their tally of new arrivals to 11 for the summer by signing striker Rob Hulse and midfielder Przemyslaw Kazmierczak.

Hulse, 29, joins the Rams from Sheffield United for a £1.75 million fee after signing a three-year contract with the club. Polish midfielder Kazmierczak has joined on a season-long loan from FC Porto.

Derby boss Paul Jewell will be hoping that the pair's top flight experience can help them return to the Premier League at the first attempt following their relegation for which they set a new record low points haul for the season with just 11 points.

Hulse (pictured) has represented both the Blades and West Brom in his previous spells in the Premier League, while Poland international Kazmierczak has represented Porto in the Champions League.

Jewell told the club's official website: "This is a terrific capture for us and I am really excited to have added a player of Rob Hulse's calibre to our squad.

"Rob is a player I've admired for a very long time and tried to sign on more than one occasion in the past.

"He has tremendous attributes as a forward; strong, brave, athletic and an eye for goal.

"It barely took any persuading to get Rob to join Derby County. He knows this is a huge club with great ambition and his ambition and desire matches ours."

Of Kazmierczak, known simply as 'Kaz' in Portugal, Jewell said: "Kaz has a terrific pedigree. He has experienced Champions League football and international football, as well as playing for Porto, one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

"He is a left-footed central midfielder who can certainly play but at the same time is very strong and very physical.

The duo have become part of Jewell's major overhaul of the squad that has seen three defenders (Martin Albrechtsen, Jordan Stewart and Paul Connolly), four midfielders (Kris Commons, Steve Davies, Paul Green and Ruben Zadkovich) and two other strikers (Nathan Ellington and Liam Dickinson) arrive at Pride Park already.
