Bordeaux have warned Celtic to forget about an approach for Fernando Cavenaghi as "no price" would convince them to sell their star striker.
Cavenaghi has impressed for Bordeaux since joining the French club 18 months ago from Spartak Moscow.
He netted 15 goals in 23 Ligue 1 appearances last season and has been linked with a £6million move to Parkhead.
Though the SPL champions have not made contact regarding Cavenaghi, Bordeaux chairman Jean Louis Triaud says any approach would be futile.
"I haven't had any contact from Celtic with regards to Fernando and nor do I want any," said Triaud in the Daily Record.
"Quite simply he is not for sale. No price would convince us to sell him because he is one of our best players and we do not need to sell him.
"There are three years left on his contract, he has done well here and is happy.
"He is a Bordeaux player, so if Celtic are planning to contact me at any stage about him I would tell them not to bother.
"They should save themselves the price of a telephone call and look elsewhere."

MIND GAMES, a la Francaise!!.. N'est pas??
Nice to see the old firm being put in thier place for a change whil ethe new firm etc.. make steady progress in the transfer market
I think this is just speculation. I can't see why Celts would sign another striker when they have McDonald, VOH, Samaras & Hutchison already at the club. Still, would be nice if there was some truth in it.
