Tillakaratne Dilshan did not take the field on the second day after suffering an injury to his right hand on day one.

Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara, the regular wicketkeeper in limited-overs cricket, substituted for Dilshan behind the stumps.

Team manager Brendon Kuruppu said a precautionary x-ray had been taken on Dilshan's finger at the end of the first day and that Sri Lanka were awaiting medical opinion on whether he can take further part in the Test.

Kuruppu said Dilshan had a slight swelling on his injured finger.
