Carlisle defender Peter Murphy is set for a scan to determine the severity of his ankle injury.The 26-year-old has sustained ligament damage and United physio Neil Dalton has hinted an operation might be needed.

Dalton told the club's official website: "The swelling in his ankle is going down and he is going to have a scan at the hospital.

"The injury is settling down but not as quickly as we would like, so we will get the scan to check exactly what is wrong.

"He has damaged a ligament in there but we need to know the full extent of the damage.

"We will know that when we get the full report back from the surgeon."
