IMSA Performance Matmut manager Franck Rava believes a GT2 podium is a possibility at this weekend's Le Mans Series race at the Nurburgring.

The fourth round of the season in Germany signals an opportunity for the outfit to improve on recent showings.

"We're remaining cautious as competition in GT2 is so high, Rava said. "But we are targeting a podium at the very minimum.

"We have the right package. It is up to us to exploit that to its fullest and to avoid any racing incidents."

Driver Patrick Pilet dismissed the incident at the last round in Portimao which cost them a rostrum finish.

"When you look at the race we ran, the work undertaken by the team, and the speed we showed with Raymond (Narac), we had a realistic chance of victory," he said.

"It is obviously annoying (that a local competitor wrecked their hopes). On the other hand, we can also say that if the damage inflicted by that clumsy driver had been on the rear axle for example, maybe our race would have ended there and then at the first corner.

"When you consider that we scored eight points in Portugal it's not really a disaster."
