Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has several major injury doubts for the Barclays Premier League clash with Blackburn.
Midfielder Lee Cattermole is struggling with the back problem which forced his departure during Tuesday's 3-1 defeat by Chelsea, while goalkeeper Marton Fulop has had injections in a heel injury with Craig Gordon standing by.
Steed Malbranque (ankle) could miss out once again while Cattermole's central midfield partner Lorik Cana is expected to play through the pain after hurting his hand in midweek.

2.1 lets put tuesday behind us we where well beat off a great team. heads up and kick on it will be a test hope they all stand up and be counted for thats all we ask
the facts are already starting!
sunderland 3
blackburn 0
The excuses are starting already......3 - 1 to Blackburn
tight 1-0 to Sunderland
I hope that Mensah can play tomorrrow but it will all depend upon his paperwork all being in order. As with the other injuries, I hope M Fulop can play as I dont want Gordon between the posts.
get tanio into the squad and show the rest of the league we have strenght in depth as well as talent.
With a fit Tainio in reserve there's not much to worry about in CM. I'd like to see Campbell have a run at RW if Steed is still hurt.
All good - 3 points.
the mighty rovers will defo win u pork sord sniffer
a little pain wont stop cattermole from playing, he thrives on it, i expect all three to play, and will be very supprised if they arn't, .....btw john mensah to sign within the next 3 hrs and be on the bench tomorrow for the
battering of blackburn....AWAY THE LADS
